The media industry is known for its chaotic nature with its unpredictability and fast pace, meaning mistakes and flaws are bound to happen. But let's be real, sometimes the biggest editorial mishaps have only us to blame. So, whether you are chronically late on deadlines, or a serious over-pitcher, you might be able to blame your birth chart for that.

Aries (March 21-April 19): The Extreme Hard-launcher

Aries and soft-launch are definitely not two things that go together. Why go through rounds of edits when an idea is just so good? The passionate and energetic fire sign skips right ahead to the planning and publishing of the story, oftentimes leaving typos and errors in their wake.

Taurus (April 20-May 20): The Stubborn Editor

Taurus, the notoriously stubborn Earth sign, would unsurprisingly be the ‘grammar police’. Once they’ve made an editorial decision, that's what will go. Deadset on their vision and executing it just so, Taurus will be extremely hard to sway for even minor changes to their projects, making them a struggle to collaborate with.

Gemini (May 21-June 20): The Over-Pitcher

Creativity and curiosity, both central characteristics of Gemini, are necessary qualities to an editorial worker. However, an abundance of these qualities can lead to a ‘trigger happy’ pitcher. Gemini would be most likely to fill pages and pages of notes with pitch ideas, only to never follow through with any of them.

Cancer (June 21-July 22): The Emotionally Attached Writer

Cancer writers do not just write their stories, they feel them. Every piece of writing comes straight from their heart, sometimes to a fault. The emotionally driven water sign tends to follow their gut feelings instead of logic, justifying it with a simple ‘it just feels right’.

Leo (July 23-August 22): The Fame-Seeker

Leos with their dramatic flair can write an article like no other, but they will make sure to make their mark. Leos will ensure they are credited, and will cut anything else before their own quote or thought. Leo wants to make sure they shine, and while edits might be tolerated, the essence of their piece better be just as they left it.

Virgo: (August 23- September 22): The Over-Editor

Every piece needs a critical eye to revise it, but Virgo won’t stop until changes you would never have even considered have been made. Virgo no doubt has a spreadsheet somewhere for every change they make, and rest assured your piece will be error free, but you might not recognize it at the end of the process.

Libra (September 23- October 22): The Indecisive Writer

Whether it's a headline, topic or conclusion, Libra will likely present ten different options, just to hate all of them. You can expect a last minute panic as deadlines approach about which headlines sound better. You can give your advice and opinions all you want, but that won't stop the anxiety Libra is bound to face when forced to make a decision.

Scorpio (October 23- November 21): The Silent Strategist

Scorpio without a doubt knows everything, from the content calendar to the pitch deck, and has it all organized and filed away, privately. Always a few steps ahead with strategies and plans, Scorpio definitely tends to keep their cards close to them. You likely won't know Scorpio is even working on a concept until it has already been published.

Sagittarius (November 22- December 21): The Distracted Writer

The ‘Most Likely to Ghost Halfway Through a Deadline’ award would definitely be presented to Sagittarius. The tendency to get distracted and take up a new pitch is irresistible to this sign. You will get their piece eventually, but not before some disruption interferes with the process.

Capricorn (December 22- January 19): The Deadline Police

Capricorn has never missed a deadline, and will absolutely remember and bring up) if you have. Capricorn is painfully aware of not only their own, but everyone else's deadlines, and does not do well with schedule changes.

Aquarius (January 20- February 18): The Obscure Pitcher

Aquarius, the most independent and progressive sign, is not bringing and run of the mill pitches to the staff meeting. Many of their ideas will border between innovate and just plain off-putting. It might take a little rewording to bring their ideas down from the clouds, but their creativity is invaluable.

Pisces (February 19- March 20): The Story Driven Writer

Pisces is the Queen of seeing the story and not the structure. The narrative is present and beautifully written, but weak structurally. Their draft will most likely come in thousands of words too long with a downright illogical structure, but it will be the most engaging and moving thing you have ever read.

Ultimately, what's an editorial office without a little chaos? If the editorial industry was perfect, none of us would be a part of it. Mistakes and typos happen, deadlines are missed, but without these faults there would be nothing to edit. Our birth charts just so happen to give us a convenient excuse to not be the perfect editor.
