Bring out the tissues, it’s dedication night! It’s a hard episode to judge like any dedication night is, but, like any other week, someone is going home and it is time to bring it!
Tonight, special guest judge Kym Johnson is joining the panel to judge, so voting will be out of 40 instead of 30 this week.
Andy & Emma: Dedication to his daughter, Cornelia (Salsa)
The tears have already started. Andy is such a light in the show and knowing his story with Cornelia just makes him ten times more lovable. There is also some improvement here! While he may be off musically, he is moving and dancing more than any week in the past. Cornelia for DWTS Season 50?
Score: Derek: 6, Bruno: 6, Carrie Ann: 6, Kym: 6
Total: 24
Do We Agree: Sadly still, this is accurate for Andy’s skills.
Robert & Witney: Dedication to his mother, Terri Irwin (Contemporary)
Tears in full force. Terri is such a wonderful mother to Robert and Bindi, and seeing her get the recognition is so wonderful. This is the best dance of the night, wow. The Irwin’s put their whole heart and soul into everything they do and this dance is proof of Robert’s dedication. This is a wonderful dance, technique, emotion, everything. This dance will go down in DWTS history.
Score: Derek: 9, Bruno: 9, Carrie Ann: 8, Kym: 9
Total: 35
Do We Agree: No, Carrie Ann, give them that 9! Also, that deserved AT LEAST one 10.
Elaine & Alan: Dedication to her best friend, Lisa Ann Walter (Foxtrot)
Are the tears still here? Absolutely, but so are the giggles with this duo. We love the Parent Trap moments! Elaine is very underrated in this show, she is always showing improvement and she has a strong technique. Hopefully the votes show just how talented she is. Lisa for DWTS Season 35!
Score: Derek: 7, Bruno: 8, Carrie Ann: 8, Kym: 7
Total: 30
Do We Agree: Just wanted at least one more 8 but I will take it!
Whitney & Mark: Dedication to her husband, Conner (Contemporary)
What a beautiful dance. This is the most involved the dedicated person has been in the dance and Conner really came through. Mark is a wonderful choreographer and the story they told was wonderful. There were a few parts off in the side by side, but other than that, this was impressive. Conner loves Whitney so much and that’s so clear and such a wonderful thing to get to watch.
Score: Derek: 8, Bruno: 8, Carrie Ann: 9, Kym: 8
Total: 33
Do We Agree: Yes, they were out of sync, it wouldn’t be fair to give them anything more.
Jen & Jan: Dedication to her mother, Maria (Viennesse Waltz)
And the tears are back. What a wonderful dedication to her mom. Emma Slater’s reactions are how everyone is feeling. Is Jen the best in technique? No. But it is also good to remember that this isn’t just Jen’s first time, but this is Jan’s first time competing on this show as well.
Score: Derek: 7, Bruno: 7, Carrie Ann: 8, Kym: 7
Total: 29
Do We Agree: Kind of, was expecting one more 8, but this week is difficult voting wise due to the emotion.
Dylan & Daniella: Dedication to his younger sister, Olivia (Contemporary)
I love that they’re keeping it in the family with the music choice for this one. The improvement week after week is so amazing to see with Dylan. He truly cares about the show and puts his all into it with everything he does. Daniella is a wonderful teacher and Dylan’s improvement really shows that. Olivia needs to be competing against Cornelia in Season 50!
Score: Derek: 9, Bruno: 9, Carrie Ann: 9, Kym: 9
Total: 36
Do We Agree: Absolutely agree but never expected Dylan to be leading the competition!
Jordan & Ezra: Dedication to her dad, Timothy (Viennesse Waltz)
What a cute story! Ezra doesn’t speak much on the relationship with his parents and for Jordan’s dad to accept him and stay involved through Jordan’s journey is such a wonderful thing. Jordan, just like Dylan, has improved so much and has made such change over the past weeks.
Score: Derek: 8, Bruno: 8, Carrie Ann: 8, Kym: 8
Total: 32
Do We Agree: Fair score, would have to agree.
Scott & Rylee: Dedication to his husband, Mark (Foxtrot)
Mark and Scott’s story is so cute, they’re such a strong couple. AND A BABY ANNOUNCEMENT? Crying. Another big improver in the competition. Comparing Scott’s hold from week one to now is such a large change. Scott is committing to this experience and Rylee and it shows. Congrats to the couple for their baby!
Score: Derek: 8, Bruno: 8, Carrie Ann: 7, Kym: 7
Total: 30
Do We Agree: Agreed, fix the posture and more 8s will come your way!
Danielle & Pasha: Dedication to her former Boy Meets World Co-Star, Bill Daniels (Jive)
The tears started even before the dance for all the Boy Meets World fans out there. That’s our Topanga! This blast to the past was such a wonderful experience to see. There was so much content in this dance and Danielle, just like Elaine, is so underrated in this competition.
Score: Derek: 7, Bruno: 8, Carrie Ann: 7, Kym: 7
Total: 29
Do We Agree: Yes, would love another 8, but this is fine.
Alix & Val: Dedication to her younger sister, Izabel (Contemporary)
Alix’s family is such a big part of her content and this was the perfect dedication for this week. Alix is making it to the finale and this dance confirmed it. The emotion, the technique, the energy, everything was top-tier this week. Alix improves even though she started out the competition at a strong start. Alix and Izabel have such a strong bond and it shows.
Score: Derek: 9, Bruno: 9, Carrie Ann: 8, Kym: 9
Total: 35
Do We Agree: Absolutely deserved!
Elimination:
Not surprised no one is going home, the rumor was floating around. Thankful to see Andy in Wicked Night!
