Temperatures are starting to drop and NFL fantasy football teams are being formed. That only means one thing: it is back to school season. As the 10,000+ freshmen settle into the dorms and girls are going shopping for their gameday fits, here are some things to look forward to for the Fall 2025 semester.
Football Season
The most anticipated part of autumn in State College, the Nittany Lions will be storming the field in only a few weeks. Being ranked at No. 2 ahead of the season’s start, Penn State will be taking the BIG10 by storm.
Themes for this year’s game are sure to excite:
Aug. 30 – Nevada: 107K Family Reunion
Sept. 6 – FIU: THON Game
Sept. 13 – Villanova: All-U Day
Sept. 27 – Oregon: Penn State White Out
Oct. 11 – Northwestern: Homecoming and Stripe Out
Nov. 8 – Indiana: Helmet Stripe and Military Appreciation
Nov. 22 – Nebraska: Senior Day
Women’s Volleyball Games
Football is not the only sport this fall to look for this season. Women’s Volleyball starts this fall, coming off of their championship win from the 2024 season. With Coach Katie at the lead, games are expected to bring lots of energy. The Wrecking Crew student section is always welcome to new members for each game and student admission is free.
THON 5K
We THON in February, but the fight against childhood cancer never stops. The THON 5k helps boost the money raised, and provides just as much fun as THON weekend will in the spring. Whether you want to hot-girl walk or run, participating in this event can help you lead your organization to victory with raising money FTK.
SPA x Movin’ On: Lights Up
With past performers like Flo Milli and Swa Lee, this free event on the HUB lawn is never one to miss. Ran by SPA and Movin’ On, this event really sets the stage for what to expect from the organizations later in the school year. Finalizing sylly week, this event is care-free and you’ll leave with everlasting memories.
Fall Bar Crawls: Back to School, Banana, and Santa Claus
21-year-olds on campus have been waiting to get involved with the bar crawls throughout the school year. Three out of five bar crawls from LineLeap happen in fall semester, and each provides its own fun. With the Back to School Bar Crawl quickly approaching, shirt distribution is important to participate fully. Next up, the newly added Banana Bar Crawl will send banana-dressed college students running around downtown. Lastly, the Santa Claus Bar Crawl will help end the semester off with a bang.
Halloweekend
The spooky season is upon us, and costumes are selling out fast. With Halloween falling on a Friday this year, get ready to celebrate the holiday from the 30th to the 2nd. Get those couple and group costumes planned out and make sure you have some solo looks that make you shine. Costumes can be found in State College at Spirit Halloween, McClanahhans, Target, Walmart, and more.
